From promises to action: Scaling up efforts against human rights barriers including HIV-related stigma and discrimination

COVID-19 has brought into stark relief for many what those affected by HIVhave known for years: inequalities and systemic human rights barriers arereflected and magnified in times of crises. Inequalities in the HIV responseare fueled by structural determinants such as stigma, discrimination, violence and criminalisation, particularly for key populations, women andgirls. Yet despite evidence and commitments, these structural barrierspersist.

If we do not address these human rights barriers we will not endAIDS by 2030. The new Global AIDS Strategy’s new societal enabler targetsoutline what must be done, but we will need to significantly scale upfunding and action if we are to meet them.

Join us along with governments, community, jurists, donors and UNagencies, for an important discussion on what works and what we need todo to scale up these efforts.
